2027 General Elections:  Umuigbo Community Welfare Initiative Calls For Peace, Tolerance, Credible Polls.

An Igbo think tank organisation has called on all Nigerians especially Ndigbo to get actively involved as Nigeria gears up to usher in a new government come 2027.
The group In a communique passed after their General Assembly meeting the group known as *Igbo community welfare initiative* (An igbo diasporan gathering) signed by Comrade Franklyn Jordan, Secretary General of the Organization, appealed to the Government of Nigeria under the able leadership of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to use the next coming election to correct all the ills of our past electoral misadventures and set an enviable standard that all Nigerians will be proud of.
It called on the authorities to be fair and make sure nobody is intimidated or molested while exercising their legitimate franchise of voting their preferred candidates.
The organisation also called on INEC to resist being used by those in authority to manipulate the figures and should also shun favouritism at all cost.
“Selling Nigeria to the highest bidder is non negotiable  and should be resisted at all cost.”
INEC should realise that as an impartial umpire the future of Nigeria is in their hands and posterity will forever judge them harshly if the votes and voices of well meaning Nigerians did not count at the end.
It also advised every eligible Nigerian voter especially Ndigbo  to register and  have their PVCs ready because their votes is their only power to effect a genuine change.
Bearing in mind that most Ndigbo likes spending Christmas at home in the South East it was advised that those willing to spend the Yuletide period away from their normal base should change their Pvc location to the South East to make sure they partake in the voting exercise which comes up early January 2027.
In conclusion,Umuigbo community welfare initiative also tasked the police and all the military authorities to deal decisively with anyone found attacking or molesting others based on their tribe or political affiliations.
What happened in Lagos and some South Western states in the past elections against Ndigbo will never be tolerated again,it concluded.
