THE PETER OBI OPTION: THE GUARANTEE FOR A GREATER TOMMOROW FOR NIGERIA

THE PETER OBI OPTION: THE GUARANTEE FOR A GREATER TOMMOROW FOR NIGERIA

 By Temple Ogueri Onyeukwu
The Labour Party is a voluntary movement of Nigerians by Nigerians for  Nigerians against  poverty, unemployment , depreciation  of the Naira, ASUU  strike, insecurity, corruption, lack of electricity, bad roads, dilapidated  infrastructure,  falling standards of Education, poor  governance, hopelessness lack  of vision, nepotism,  faulty  economic  foundation,  indiscipline, spiraling  inflation and  hunger.
The problem of Nigeria has variously been diagnosed as leadership which has continuously resulted in bad and poor governance. Bad and poor governance has moved Nigeria from top to bottom. Nigeria is barely able to service its debts and has continued to borrow to meet her daily needs. Labour Party is not against borrowing but any money borrowed must be invested in some projects that can pay back both the capital and the interest. This is far from the case today. The Labour party is presenting Nigeria with a leadership and a Presidential candidate that will bring the desired turn around in our Economy: Mr. Peter Obi and Alhaji, Baba-Ahmed Yussuf  both of them do not belong to the status quo.
Mr Peter Obi and Alhaji Baba-Ahmed represent the new Nigeria we all ask for Mr. Peter Obi represents a turning point in the economy from consumption to production. Productivity is the only way the value of the currency can be better. It will increase employment and stop the avoidable outsourcing of employment opportunities to other countries.  Labour party represents  civility and  holds other Presidential candidates  in very high esteem but notes that they all lack the  necessary  mental, intellectual, physical  capacity  to preside  over the affairs of  Nigeria at this point in  time. Nigeria needs a President with a sound mind in a sound body who is in tune with the rest of the world to show the direction.
Labour party campaigns must be devoid of insulting other parties or their flag bearers. It must be devoid of casting aspirations on them. However the country has continued to sink, the insecurity in the country is unprecedented, the corruption, we have been described as fantastically corrupt, we  have become  the poverty capital  of the world. The blind can see these, the deaf can hear them and the lame are able to run on these issues. These are issues that are crystal clear in our country today. We cannot go the route of APC or PDP again. It will be insanity for anyone to suggest we continue on this trajectory. If we do, it will be Nunc Dimitis Nigeria.  APC & PDP have become toxic to the existence of Nigeria. The choice is ours.
People always tout party supremacy in covering up unjust, unfair, inequitable, incomprehensible decisions foisted on the nation. It has always been for the highest bidder. The man with the deepest pocket buys up the party machinery, the aspirants and the delegates only to turn back and shout party supremacy. Party supremacy that is devoid of justice, equity, fairness inclusiveness and accommodation is a recipe for crisis and imposition of incompetent   leadership on the nation. Shifting the goal post and abandoning the party constitution when it does not suit the money bags in the party or a particular ethnic region is preposterous and manifest injustice.
The Labour Party is not a money bag party. Labour Party is the only hope Nigeria has to survive. If we miss this opportunity, it may never come again. Nigeria is bleeding to death. It is in the intensive care unit and requires experts to save   its life. The time is now the party is Labour party.   The doctor is Peter Obi, Baba-Ahmed, you and I. Arise and save Nigeria.
In this assignment we must appreciate that elections are not won on the social media, not by making noise or insulting opponents. We must adopt a door to door approach, populate labour party, convince all to vote labour party to save Nigeria. Mr. Peter Obi and Baba-Ahmed will recalibrate the Socio Economic and security architecture of this nation and set it on the path of recovery, growth and development. The Peter Obi option is the only guarantee for a greater tomorrow for Nigeria.
