Obowo APC Leaders To Opposition Parties:  Decamp To APC Now Or Face Merciless Defeat Nov. 11th

By Anyi Lemchi
The preparation for the November gubernatorial election in Imo State seems to have taken another dimension in Obowo as the stakeholders in Obowo have declared total collapse of all political parties in Obowo as well as party structures for the electoral victory of Sen. Hope Uzodimma.
In a meeting called by the Hon. Commissioner for Housing and Urban Development, Hon. Dr. Lady Love Ineh in her official residence in Owerri, the stakeholders in Obowo principally the Traditional Rulers led by HRH, Eze Ngozi Uwalaka, the Presidents General led by Hon Donatus Agwuocha, the Presidents of the Catholic Women Organization, Government Liaison Officers, Community Youth and Women Leaders, present and former Government functionaries, the leaders resolved very strongly that it would be to the best interest of Obowo as a Local Government for Gov UZODIMMA to be given unalloyed support by all persons irrespective of political parties as the Governor has clearly demonstrated love and sufficient interest in the growth, development, and wellbeing of Obowo people.
Through a motion moved by an eminent stakeholder and astute political driver, Chief Longers Anyanwu, calling for a vote of implicit confidence on the Governor and for his re-election, the people of Obowo unanimously passed a vote of confidence on the Governor and called for his re-election without negotiation.
Chief Longers equally moved a motion for a vote of confidence on the Apex Leader, Lady Love and the SOLAD for the leadership they have provided for the party in Obowo.
He also moved the groundbreaking motion for the immediate reconciliation of the former Speaker Kennedy Ibeh and Hon. Chike Okafor whose political feud has robbed off on the party negatively.
This motion was most welcomed by the people of Obowo who urged the two brothers to genuinely reconcile as they are stronger together than divided.
Speaking at the event, one of the prominent leaders and founding leader of APC in Obowo, Hon. Chike Okafor  urged the people of Obowo to take the issue of re-election of Governor Uzodimma seriously.
He further made commitments of ensuring a full compliance to the resolve of the people of Obowo by reaching out to persons from other political divides to come and join hands to achieve a electoral victory.
The former Hon. Commissioner and House of Representatives member for Okigwe South stated clearly that no Governor has done for him more than Governor Hope has done for him and as a result, there is no reason for which he will not mobilize to support the Governor’s election.
Also in the meeting was the Hon. Member for Obowo State Constituency and former Speaker of Imo State House of Assembly who spoke through his Chief of Staff, Hon. Dr. Kelechi Onyegbule who announced to the people of Obowo who love and support him to join hands in making the November 11 success a reality.
The  Member who stated that he remains grateful to Governor Hope for fulfilling his promise of making him Speaker established that nothing will be left in the bid to ensure Gov. Uzodimma success using his supporters and various party structures.
The Dr Lady Love Ineh however warned very sternly that the days of pretence is over and stated that the only acceptable anti-party in Obowo is the resolve of other party members to work for Sen. Hope UZODINMA and not otherwise.
She thanked the stakeholders for the success of the party in the last elections but further prayed all persons to double their efforts as this will make Obowo retain her place of pride and relevance in the government.
The meeting welcomed speeches from Candidates of various political parties in the last election for Imo State House of Assembly who openly declared their support for the Governor and gave assurances of the unreserved support for the commissioner and willingness to partner with the party for an overwhelming success at the polls.
Others who spoke at the meeting were former Commissioner of Police, Chief Francis Ihechere who appealed for the full reconciliation of the duo of Chike and Kennedy as their fight is a distraction in the forthcoming election.
Others at the meeting were Chief Alex Mbakwe, former Chairmen of Obowo LGA, Dr. Japh Azubuiñe, Hon. Chidi Nwoke, Hon. Lady Patience Mbankwe, Hon. C. C. Ihejirika, appointees of the present administration , Hon. Barr. Mike Nduleche, Hon Barr Johnson Ehirim, Mrs Comfort Eñeregbu, Elder Anaelechi of Imo Transport Union, former Commisioner Ifeanyi Onwueyiagba, Chief OJ Nwachinemere Onyegbule, Hon. Chima Okeke, and a host of others.
