NAPTIP Imo State Command Marks World Day Against Trafficking In Persons in Grand Style 

The Sensitization progressed with the singing of National Anthem and presentation of Cola nuts.
Welcome address was done by the NAPTIP Imo State Commander Toochukwu Ezejiegu B. In his address he welcomed  and applauded the Students,  digniteries from other sister security Agencies who were present.
The NAPTIP Imo State Commander Toochukwu Ezejiegu B. made a presentation on the overview of Human Trafficking and the signs which includes recruitment, transportation, coercion, force and labour for the purposes of exploitation. He also talked about the five strategies of NAPTIP in the fight against Human Trafficking which includes Policy, Partnership, prevention, protection. And prosecution.
An address was presented by the CEO RARDUJA  Hon. Edie Duru who is also the NAPTIP Chief Ambassador. In his address,he expressed his joy over the presence of the students, the organizers of the sensitization and all the security Agencies present.
He went further to enumerate what NAPTIP has done in the fight against Human Trafficking.
He narrated a story of a victim of human trafficking who he rescued in Germany and succeeded in bringing her back to Nigeria. He used the victim as an example to students because she was deceived that she was coming to Germany to study.
He warned the students against the dangers of Human Trafficking.
He admonished the students that there are businesses  they can do  in Nigeria after the must have graduated to better their lives rather than traveling abroad.
Welcome address was presented by the representative of the Rector of  Federal Polytechnic Nekede Dr A.C Madu, who is the Director Academic  planning and Quality control.
In his address he appreciated and thanked the NAPTIP Imo State Command for bringing sensitization to the  school. He also commended NAPTIP efforts in combating the menace of trafficking in persons.
He went further to stress that sensitization is the key in the fight against Human Trafficking, and he advised the students to be very vigilant.
He recommended collaboration and partnership with all the security Agencies.
An address was presented by Andy, the State coordinator of RARDUJA and the NACTAL President Imo State.
In his address, he mentioned the new trend of human trafficking which is Organ harvesting, he advised the students to be very careful when they are on transit.
The representative of the Commandant NDLEA Imo State Command stated that migrants are often trafficked for labour and illicit drug peddling.
He went further to inform the students that Commercial drug racketeers works hand in glove with human traffickers, for that reason students should be very vigilant.
Dr Bestdone Gilbert  the CEO Healglobal in her presentation  informed the students about what her organization does which is supporting the survivors and victims of Human Trafficking through the provision psycho-social support and medical support.
She explained the signs of Human Trafficking which includes the ACT, transport, the MEANS,   use of force, and PURPOSE, which is exploitation.
She assured the students that she is working on establishing anti Human trafficking club in the school in collaboration with NAPTIP Imo State Command.
