FUTO LAND GRABBING : ANOKAM WARNS GOVERNMENT OFFICIALS TO STEER CLEAR …URGES IMO

The Attorney of Federal University of Technology Owerri ( FUTO) Host Communities , Chief Sam Anokam last Tuesday spits fire while warning some lmo State Government Officials and their Cronies to desist from
intimidating FUTO Land Owners to deal with them by handing over their property to them in the guise to survey, parcellate plotting or mapping out lands to Owners

He also pointed an accusing finger to Security Personnels especially
members of the Nigerian Army for being used by these self acclaimed Government Agents to intimidate the helpless and hapless owners of FUTO Lands especially those in Umuoma Nekede Community.”We have already petitioned the Chief Of Army Staff of the abuse of the Constitutional responsibility of the Army by some miscreants and authorities using the Army as Security Agency to harass our people and perpetuate the action of land grabbing”

In his Voice”We started witnessing an attitude of land grabbing by officers of the present administration in the state since the governor pledged to intervene in the lingering FUTO Land excision matter which necessitated his discussion with FUTO Governing Council and the Host Communities . He pledged to intervene ad set up a committee to that effect ”

He Alleged that the officers of the lmo State Government and their cronies have not stopped intimidating the Land Owners to relinquish their Lands to them , to serve as their Attorneys when there is an Attorney for FUTO Land Owners and to come forward to make claims for their contracted Surveyors to capture their Lands

The Owerri West Apex leader also revealed that these mischievous characters whose intentions are to deceive the land owners and to create chaos and confusion in these communities are claiming to have the governor’s backing .
” I am perturbed ,! How can the governor be speaking from both sides of the mouth,trying to resolve the issue and at the same time causing undue tension by sending his officials to parcellate and the land when the issue has not been fully resolved ” he questioned.

The Arrow head who said that they thought that they had left the trenches and are ready for peaceful settling of FUTO
Land excision could not fathom the face of treachery rearing it’s ugly head.”l am sounding it as a note of warning that if it is confirmed that the government gave a nod to this action,then it means we have been forced into the trenches.

The Knight of the Anglican Communion while calling on Governor Hope Uzodimma to speed up action in resolving the land issue once and for all to avert an impending lawlessness which he said would not augur well with his administration especially now that the elections are around the corner.

Let There Be Light as he is fondly called enjoined the. Chief Security Officer of the State to call his men to order before it is too late ‘ These unscrupulous elements are taking steps that will undermine his interest of bringing a long lasting peace and put FUTO Land issue to rest.
