PROF. IKECHUKWU. N. S. DOZIE EMERGES 9TH FUTO VICE CHANCELLOR

 By Bright OKEREKE
The emergence of Professor Ikechukwu Nosike Simplicius Dozie, yesterday, Thursday April 23, 2026, as the 9th substantive Vice Chancellor of Federal University of Technology, Owerri (FUTO), is a clear fulfilment of God’s promise of His glorious crown upon those who raced to perfection in Psalm 126:1, thus; _”When the Lord turned again the captivity of Zion, we were like them that dream.  Then was our mouth filled with laughter, and our tongue with singing: then said they among the heathen, The Lord hath done great things for them. The Lord hath done great things for us; whereof we are glad.”
Many have attested to Professor Dozie’s new appointment, which has triggered streams of joy among stakeholders as divinity’s reward for his diligence, resilience and commitment to true service while holding forth as the pioneer Vice Chancellor of Kingsley Ozumba Mbadiwe University (KOMU) Ideato Imo State, Nigeria,
Prof Dozie’s new appointment which came-up 25 days to the end of his 5-year tenure as the pioneer Vice Chancellor of KOMU, has turned, days of subtle emotions occasioned by his winding-up tenure and final vacation of office into loud joy, realising, he was merely elected into a higher glory for a greater responsibility at the prestigious Federal University of Technology Owerri (FUTO).
Prof. I. N. S. Dozie, who will be leaving Kingsley Ozumba Mbadiwe University Ideato on May 18, 2026, will assume his new office as 9th substantive Vice Chancellor of the Federal University of Technology, Owerri (FUTO), on June 19, 2026.
The renowned professor of  Medical Microbiology and Parasitology,  a Public Health Scientist, will replace Prof. Nnenna Oti, who will serve out her 5-year tenure on the 18th June, 2026.
Professor Dozie, who has recorded an avalanche of laudable and modest legacies, is a great testimonial of what God can do for those who live, trust and stand on His promises.
Believably! It is for Professor I.N.S. Dozie’s sake; God made the promises in Isaiah 40:31 (KJV) manifest: “But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.”*  Hence, his rising grace of breaking greater grounds.
Interestingly, an admixture of diligence, conscientiousness and divinity have enlisted Prof. I. N. S. Dozie, among the very few Nigerian Patriots who had the grace of serving 2 times as Vice Chancellors with much to be desired; the likes of Prof. Chimere Ikoku, Prof. Ango Abdullahi etc
Though Professor Dozie has served as a 2-time Dean at FUTO, before his appointment as the Vice Chancellor of KOMU, yet his return as the 9th Vice Chancellor, will indeed sign FUTO into the atmosphere of more innovative, robust and resourceful leadership trends built around cutting edge technology.
Professor Dozie’s wealth of administration and leadership experience, positively changes accelerating to higher productivity gear  and advances the improvement of institutional brands, having led Kingsley Ozumba Mbadiwe University, from the creche through the turf era that challenged its possibilities of becoming, to a viable and top ranking world-class status with an envious ranking and visibility.
We are therefore, standing on the promises of God, shouting and singing,”Glory to God in the highest!”
Thumbs up with Roof top cheers up!
