HOW PETER OBI WILL GENERATE HIS CAMPAIGN FUNDS

By ONWUASOANYA JONES
Some people believe that the Peter Obi Campaign will be outspent by the Tinubu and Atiku Campaigns. They misunderstood the mantra “I no dey give shishi” as meaning that we will run an austere campaign, without voting funds where they are needed. That’s a dangerous misconception. The Peter Obi campaign will spend multiple billions of Naira in this campaign. In fact, no presidential campaign organization will be able to match the spending power of the Peter Obi Campaign.
This is a time to show those moneybags the power of collective project. This is a time to teach those who boast with the monies they stole from the people that no matter how much they have stolen, they can’t be richer than the people. The people are ready to take back their country, and they know that it isn’t going to be a walk in the park. They are ready to put their money where their mouth is.
They understand that for the very first time in Nigeria’s political history, Nigerians have a very realistic chance of electing a President they will truly own, and who will have no reason to disrespect them or take them for granted. A President who will not disregard their cries and complaints and treat them like trash.
I can tell you most confidently that the Peter Obi campaign is being funded by Nigerians and more Nigerians are willing to donate more money, more of their talents, more contacts and more ideas. Nigerians are ready to match any candidate, Dollar for Dollar, Naira for Naira, idea for idea, skill for skill, etc. Money is raining in from everywhere, ideas are coming in from the North, from the South and from the diaspora. Nigerians feel challenged, and they are not going to disappoint.
A major reason our political leaders take us for granted after they have been elected into office is because they feel they don’t owe us anything. They sponsored themselves to office. Some of them even go as far as taking loans from banks, while others enter into shylockish arrangement with some godfathers. Those who are in office, divert public funds to sponsoring their elections, but the Peter Obi campaign will be funded with the people’s money. He will know, from the beginning that the people own him, and not some cabals.
The people, the ordinary people of Nigeria, will become the cabal that will take key decisions on Nigeria’s fate. Their interest will determine where and how the country will be run and government policies will be driven by what the people truly want, because, beyond just voting for that ticket, Nigerians are sponsoring it, Nigerians are investing in it.
NIGERIANS MUST WIN!
