Imo Housing Never Acquired Our Farm Land, Mboke Dindi Village Tells  Nwakanma

By ThankGod Emeh
The entire members of Mboke Welfare Association and good-spirited elders and indigenes of Mboke Dindi, Ihiagwa community in Owerri West Local government area of Imo state have denied in entirety the authenticity of media reports making rounds about Imo government’s acquisition of Mboke lands known as Ala Uzo Ubi Mboke Farmland by the State Housing Corporation, the Special Adviser on Land Recovery to Governor Hope Uzodimma, Hon Paschal Nwakamma (Dum Dum), Mr. Stanley Anyanwu or any other agency either by proxy or by any community representative.
The community leaders equally revealed that the acclaimed signatory to the 2017 Mboke land acquisition on behalf of Mboke people as Chairman, Mr Sunny Nwaneri is fraudulent, false, and grossly misleading as Chief Emmanuel Ukwunna was Mboke Village Chairman in 2017 followed by Mr Sunny Nwaneri in 2019 while Chief Emmanuel Uzoma is the current Chairman hence there was no way he could have signed off Mboke land acquisition papers as Chairman long time ago before nurturing, aspiring, winning and assuming same position.
The Mboke Welfare Association however appealed to Governor Hope Uzodimma to release the now-fenced individual lands of the people through the Ministry of Lands and as well truncate all moves of his SA on Land Recovery, Hon.  Nwakamma, Stanley Anyanwu, Bethram Uzodimma among other cohorts to acquire it, while recalling that the Traditional Ruler of the community, Eze Kingsley Odu had in time passed, written attestation letter to  Imo Housing Corporation, urging them “to attend to the requests of the families and kindreds of Mboke village as the rightful owners of the land”
“We hereby appeal to Governor Hope Uzodimma, the Commissioner for Lands- Chief Barrister Enyinnaya Onuegbu, the Commissioner of Police Imo State Command and other security agencies to call the Hon. Paschal Nwakamma, Chief Bethram Uzodimma, Stanley Anyanwu and Mr Emmanuel Uzoma as they will be held responsible for any crisis that may arise while defending our community and Farmland”
Addressing newsmen, the former Vice Chairman of Mboke Welfare Association, Mr Gorge Nzurumike denied all reports of Mboke land acquisition by any individual or group, adding that Mboke as a community has no communal land and the false news peddlers and their cohorts have never met with the individual land owners in good standing to acquire their lands in any arrangement.
“We have no business with this so-called fake Imo Housing personnel who have repeatedly approached our people for the release of our individual lands in the name of establishing a Bottling industry, among others. Mboke have no communal land. What Mboke have are family lands”
“I had advised them severally to meet with the individual land owners in the community to rub minds together but they kept running from pole to pole and holding meetings with their cohorts in one hotel or the other”
Adding his voice, the Attorney of Mboke Dindi, Ihiagwa community, E-ENORLAR however, recalled that the Traditional Ruler of Mboke Dindi community, Eze Kingsley Odu had squarely refuted the acquisition claims in 2020/2021, when the land dispute started in a disclaimer/attestation letter written to Imo Housing Corporation, urging its management to boycott all illegal dealings with any Conny person from the village.
“The Chairman of Obilobi, Elder John Ubawunwa said the supporters of Stanley Anyanwu at the early stages did not do it on behalf of Mboke people but were lured into doing it hence they never knew it was about the alleged acquisition as they were called and given some money in a hotel, Land acquisition are not done in hotel”.
“Note: In 2018/2019 it was the same Stanley Anyanwu (Mayor) that brought one Bottling Company from Lagos into Mboke Farmland in disguise of Imo State Housing Corporation. We resisted the move through our Attorney, E-ENORLAR. In 2020 he went and sold his family land to Capital City Real Estate; the family resisted him and took him to court. In 2021, he brought FUTO into our (the fight is still ongoing and we are waiting for His Excellency, Governor Hope Uzodimma to resolve it). Today the same person is bringing the so called Barthram Uzodimma, in disguise of Imo Housing into the same land.
THE Obilobi’s stressed that a real estate company named Orange Garden City Estates, in disguise of FUTO in collaboration with Stanley Anyanwu, returned back to the same Mboke people’s lands to claim that the lands belonged to FUTO after serial attempts to grab the land with the name of Imo Housing and Sparkling Bottling Company failed.
“The question is: the same land that is alleged to be FUTO’s land, which they have used FUTO’s name through Orange Garden City to fence and block the owners of the lands from entering, is still the same land they are alluding to have been acquired and owned by Imo Housing Corporation.
The Mboke Dindi Attorney disclosed that the picture shown on Media reports about the alleged time of acquisition is baseless and misleading as it was taken in the office of the SA Land Recovery,  Hon. Paschal Nwakamma Dumdum during a recent meeting with him and Mboke stakeholders on 3rd, 4th and 5th February, 2025 hence does not reflect the alleged acquisition of the lands in 2020 as bandied across board with impunity.
“Mr. Stanley Anyanwu and Hon. Paschal Nwakamma manufactured these pictures claiming that it was acquisition pictures taken in 2017 whereas the community went to his office to inform him to steer clear from their land”
“He is instigating Obinze people into the land, making it look like Obinze and Mboke people have dispute over the land hence he manufactured a fake petition making it look like Obinze people petitioned Mboke people over the land while using the avenue to gain access to the land in question”
“Same Stanley Anyanwu in a bid to sustain the illegality brought one Mr. Bethram Uzodimma claiming that the latter is the brother of Governor Hope Uzodimma thereby impersonating the Governor before Mboke people and when the plan failed, he said that same Bethram Uzodimma is a bonafide citizen of Mboke.
“When he was caught in the web of lies, he resorted to claims that the same Bethram Uzodimma is an Imo Housing staff and Developer whom Imo Housing directed to use Caterpillars on the lands of Mboke people.
“The public should disregard them because they are big frauds and they are only looking for chances to grab Mboke land; not knowing that the documents of the lands are with Governor Hope Uzodimma with a proposal for the Governor to release their land through the ministry of lands and not Imo Housing to come and acquire their lands.
“The SA Land Recovery, Hon Paschal Nwakamma (Dum Dum)  imposing the village Chairman Chief Emmanuel Uzoma as the Attorney and Bartram Uzodimma as  Developer from Imo Housing on  Mboke community is laughable and dead on arrival.
“As a result; we have Reaffirmed E-ENOLAR as our Attorney during our emergency meeting held on the 7th  of February 2025 in our village square/town hall (Ugwuogbu Mboke) respectively.
In the foregoing, Mr Uche Okoro who spoke alongside the leadership of Mboke community stressed that they will no longer honour any meeting called by the SA on Land Recovery, Hon. Paschal Nwakamma noting that the SA is working against the Mboke Dindi people in collaboration with Stanley Anyanwu and Chief Emmanuel Uzoma and bent on creating unwarranted developments to draw attention and relevance.
“In fact, my late father was the spokesperson of our Mboke people in the case then in 1975 with the oldest man in our community then Npa Nmere swore an oath on behalf our people. After he survived the oath and didn’t die within one year, the land dispute was resolved in our favour and ever since then our people have farmed on the land without any interference or disturbance from  Umunebo, Obinze people.”
“For me, I think our people should not attend his meetings anymore as it is very apparent that he is working with Stanley Anyawu” Mr Uche Okoro stated.
Supporting the motion to boycott further meetings with the SA on Land Recovery on behalf of the community are Obilobi John Ubawunwa (Chairman Obilobi Mboke), Nze Ajuku, Obilobi Charles Nwaneri, Obilobi Ugwunna Uzoma, Obilobi Samuel Uba, Nze Lawrence Nwaneri (immediate past Mboke welfare Chairman), Mr Obi Onyechere, Mr Nzuruike (formal vice chairman Mboke), Chief Chidi Ukwuoma (A.K.A Ogwudire) among others.
