DTMSSA Alumni Commissions 400 Capacity Exam Hall For Alma Mater

It was all joy in the wake of the new year 2024 on Wednesday January 3rd as Dick Tiger Memorial Secondary School, Amaigbo Alumni Association (DTMSSAAA) alongside Amaigbo Town Union (ATU) commissioned a 400 sitting capacity examination hall, four-rooms convenience and Pipe borne water respectively in the institution.
The three packaged commissioning event which doubled as a Get Together of the DTMSSA Alumni attracted Old Students dating from 1973, the School management, community and family members, as well as friends and well wishers among other dignitaries who graced the occasion in their numbers.
Commissioning the three projects, the Father of the day and Alumnus of DTMSSA, Nze Iheanyi Aguoru the “Ebebe Nkwerre” said that the facilities are dedicated to the management and students to uplift their living standards as DTMSSA and memory of Dick Tiger stands tall in history across Nigeria and the World in general.
 Chairman of the occasion ACP Chris Onwuka (Rtd) also an old boy of the school advised the DTMSSAA students to be mindful of negative lifestyles,  noting that their relationship with one another shall at a point in life count to their existence.
He however charged the students and management of the school to live up to their expectations by studying hard and giving their best.
Addressing the people at the event earlier, the President of the Alumni, Mr Gilbert Eso expressed appreciation to the Executive and members of the DTMSSA Alumni Association, and the management and students of their Alma mater for all their support in achieving the success and prayed for greater heights.
According to the Alumni President, Mr Eso, the hall project was aimed at giving the students of the institution a sense of belonging and contributing their quota to the development of the school and society at large.
Representative of the President General of Amaigbo Town Union, ATU Sir Fyne Madumere, the General Secretary of the Union, Sir George Nwadinobi-Obi  commended the Alumni for their benevolence, especially remembering the younger generation in time of need as well as working with unity of purpose to actualize their dreams which was evidenced in the overwhelming turn up of members for the event.
Nwadinobi-Obi  added that giving back to one’s Alma mater is a notable way to go hence urged the Executives and members of the Alumni to keep the fire burning.
The Principal of the the School, in his speech extolled the members of the Alumni as well as ATU for being responsive and timely sitting the projects, describing it as a feat to keep the body and soul of the citadel of learning  going.
He said the projects will go a long way to revitalize the resources of DTMSSA morally, financially and otherwise.
Adding his voice, an Alumnus of DTMSSA, Barr. J C.Uwazuruonye  who narrating the success story behind the commissioned projects charged the younger generation to take heed of good counsel, be good ambassadors of the school as well as contributing their own quota.
Uwazuruonye popped the last Champagne offered the Alumni by one of their members from Opobo late GOSPEL ACCRA JAJA who worked very hard towards the establishment of the Alumni Association.The champagne was used for toasting and naming the hall NEW HEAVEN (GOSPEL ACCRA JAJA) HALL
The PRO of the Alumni Mr Festus Anyiam also stressed the need for the students to be diligent in their studies so as to take their Destiny in their hands to be great which the Alumni stands for to Always be Champions like the founder of the School Dick Tiger Ihetu.
The high point of the occasion was the jubilation, sense of fulfillment expressed over the completed projects as well as networking and exchange of pleasantries among Alumni members, students and school authorities among other stakeholders present at the  event.
The present Executives of  Dick Tiger Memorial Secondary School, Amaigbo Alumni Association (DTMSSAAA) include , Gilbert ESO – President,
George Ohakamnu – Deputy President,
 Stephen Mgbemere – Secretary,  Ijeoma Harold Okorom – Asst. Secretary. Others include, Grace Iwuala – Treasurer, Theresa Emenike – Financial Secretary,
Philomena Nwadike – Auditor and
 Festus Anyiam – PRO.
