The Laity Council made this known recently when the group led by its Owerri  Provincial President, Hon. Placid Chijioke, paid courtesy call  on the governor at Government House, Owerri, and also  used the opportunity to  present the newly elected Executives of the Laity Council to him.
Speaking at the occasion, the leader of the delegation noted that if the refineries are put to use it will drastically reduce the cost of fuel in Nigeria, hence he urged the governor to leverage on his relationship with the Presidency and ensure an overhaul of Nigeria refineries in the interest of the common man.

He expressed optimism that Port Harcourt refinery may become  operational by December.
The governor
promised  that the  palliatives will be evenly distributed and will get to Imo people where ever they reside in the state.
