As Otti’s Administration Prioritizes Development, Ignoring 2027 Opposition Noise

By Ebere Uzoukwa
The recent visit by a few Ukwa Ngwa APC members to the Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Benjamin Kalu, has sparked controversy and misinformation.
This development comes on the heels of Governor Alex Otti’s commitment to delivering development, good governance, and total transformation of Abia State, despite the noise made by some desperate and selfish Abia opposition members ahead of the 2027 governorship race. The Governor has repeatedly made it clear that he is not bothered by the noise of some desperate opposition members in Abia State about the 2027 governorship election.
As Governor Otti recently pointed out, the  noise-makers are not genuinely running for elections but seeking recognition, negotiation, or making selfish political projections. The Governor rather believes that his good works and the people of Abia will speak at the appropriate time when the issue of 2027 occupies the front burner. For now, his priority is transforming Abia into a modern model state.
The leaders of the delegation that made the controversial visit to Deputy Speaker Kalu, particularly Hon. Uzor Azubuike and Chief Don Ubani, had clarified that the visit was purely to express gratitude for the Deputy Speaker’s role in facilitating appointments for some Ukwa Ngwa sons. No qualms! Governor Otti is absolutely not interested in the motives behind the visit, whether to thank Deputy Speaker Benjamin Kalu or to woo him into the 2027 Abia gubernatorial race. Instead, he remains committed to delivering more infrastructure and socio-economic development, creating prosperity for the people of Abia State, without giving attention to early 2027 campaigns and other distractions.
Suffice it to say that Governor Otti had from the beginning set a target for his administration, aiming to deliver an appreciable mileage in his transformation agenda before the end of his 4-year term. With over two years left in his first term, Governor Otti is focused on governance and the overall welfare of Abians and residents. He strongly believes that his achievements will drive the 2027 narratives, while the Abia electorate decides who shall govern them. Governor Otti is also a firm believer that power belongs to God, who gives to whoever He wishes. With this conviction, the Abia liberator is unshaken and committed to doing the right things, including sticking to transparency and accountability.
It is therefore gratifying to know that Governor Otti’s administration remains focused on delivering development and transformation to the people of Abia State without being disturbed by the 2027 noise. While they stir up the polity for selfish gains, Governor Otti chooses to remain committed to serving the people. The Governor’s commitment to governance and development shall always underscore his dedication to serving Abia while his administration’s progress continues to speak for itself.
