Ebonyians and indeed all concerned Nigerians, have been reminded of the need for them to support and vote for Ebonyi First Lady, Her Excellency Mary- Maudeline Uzoamaka Ogbonna Nwifuru, who is vying for the first lady National award.
Mrs Nwifuru, who was nominated by the African Iconic Recognition Awards, among Four other First Ladies, from other states of Nigeria, is contesting  the position of Best Performing First Lady Of The Year.
Assessment of the First Ladies, as made available by organizers of the award, is focused on the woman that is kind, and one who is caring and committed to serving her people and  constant desire to improve the societies’ qualities of life by creating future opportunities for the incoming generation, through her position.
Concerned Ebonyians and admirers, including Leo Oketa, Egwu Sunday, Inyima Sunday and Chinwe, in their separate statements, have called on the people to support and vote for Mrs Nwifuru.
They described the first lady as the most qualified and called for more voters, saying she is truly deserving and one who has really improved lives of  women, youths and children, through her “Better Health For Rural Women, children and Internally Displaced Foundation” (BERWO), which for the past 9 months has been fighting against gender based violence, child labour, female mutilation and youths restive.
She has equally put an end to child trafficking, street hawking and begging,  and as a UNESCO Ambassador, she has continued to improve the education of women and children in the state
Other admirers, including Afikpo Council leadership, Coordinator of Afikpo East DC, Hon Immaculata, have also approved of Mrs Nwifuru’s nomination  and therefore present her to all to vote.
