FUTO  Holds International Women’s Day in Style …Urges mother’s to always train their girl child

 The institute of Women ,Gender and Development Studies, has celebrated her international women’s day in FUTO with the theme : Digital Innovation and Technology for Gender .
Speaking during the celebration,the chief host Prof Nnenna Ottih VC Federal University of Technology Owerri, said March is a month sit aside by international community to celebrate women all over the world.
Prof Ottih added that women are being celebrated all over the world, noting that mother’s should put in their best in training their girls so that they will be a better citizens to the society.” Women are already strong,Be the Heroin of yourself not the victim”.
VC Futo stressed that she is among women who have stand out to  for women to emulate from her “I am happy to be among those women whom are being celebrated in Nigeria and across the globe.
Contributing,the Director Institute of women, Gender and Development Studies FUTO who is in also the host, Prof Edna Matthew Njoku said that Rape , Domestic Violence and Child Abuse should not be seen against girls .
She said that women have been found in different fields of life,so they should use the opportunity to make themselves available to  fit in when the needs arise. “Self respect is important, that’s why every woman should stand out to enable them recognized in the society”.
“We have women who are into innovations, technology, health, agriculture and social sciences adding that women can do any work”.
She noted that women are given opportunity to study in their institute to enable them embrace the opportunity to study.
Dignitaries at the occasion,Comrd Uchenna Nwokeji  KSJi chairman Senior Staff Association of Universities (SSANU) ,the deputy registrar of the institute Mrs Loveth C Ekwemalor
High point of the celebration was  road show to mark the days event.
