Labour Party Guber Primary : Concerned Imolites Drum Support for Kelechi Nwagwu

As the November 11,2023 Imo state governorship contest draws near, a cross section of Imo electorate has charged party delegates for Labour Party guber primaries to be sincere, wise and selfless enough to settle for Rt. Hon. Kelechi Nwagwu, a former speaker of  Imo state legislative House.
Political analysts are of the opinion that Kelechi Nwagwu is the only one, among the Labour Party aspirants that could lead the party to victory.
More than 80’% of people interviewed on political realities in Imo state passed a vote of confidence on the former speaker whom they described as a genuine character, a highly credible person widely admired by Imo people as a result of his strong will in championing laws/bills for even development of Imo state while in office as speaker of Imo state house of assembly. “Kelechi Nwagwu is a man who does not succumb to the whims and caprices of godfathers and Shylock contractors on matters of attending to the yearnings of the people. He is not one of those who play politics of the stomach, to the detriment of the people.
As far as Kelechi Nwagwu is concerned, development of Imo state counts before personal interests. This is why he will resist any attempt to bribe him out of the race, if given the LP ticket for the final contest. What the LP needs to take over Imo government house is some one who is contented  with the little he has in terms of material possession. And this is the character of the man,  Kelechi Nwagwu”, the concerned Imolites stated.
On his impacts as speaker of Imo state house of assembly and there after,  most of the commentators drawn from the state civil service, private sector, local government system, artisans, religious groups, student bodies as well as professional bodies and who pleaded anonymity recalled , ” it was during Kelechi Nwagwu’s period as speaker of the legislative arm that laws were made for the first time , making way for the creation of local government development centres, establishment of housing estates in the state and erection of a modern secretariat complex for the state, among other things.                      We love the Labour Party and would not like a situation where the party’s ticket for the election will be given to a self-centred individual who would prefer collecting material offers in preference to working hard and winning the election proper”.
