ATU Holds Royal Banquet  …Unveils New Amaigbo Agenda  …to embark on erosion control

  Amaigbo Town Union, the apex sociopolitical body of Amaigbo Ancient Community in Nwangele Local Government Area of Imo State, on 2nd January, 2023 held Royal Reunion Banquet in a grand style for its members.
The Banquet which started by 8 pm with Red Carpet witnessed the presence of over five Hundred personalities from the the Community.

In his opening prayer, Traditional Ruler of Amaigbo Ancient Kingdom, HRM Eze Nelson Nwosu, ably represented by Chief Dan Nwosu asked God to bless all Amaigbo Sons and daughters in their respective endeavours, adding that God blessed Amaigbo Community with quality people who are providing quality leadership.
While observing  Kola nuts rites, HRH, Eze Chukwudi Ihenetu, Eze Igbo Ghana, commended the leadership of Amaigbo Town Union for its dedication, desire and efforts to reposition and develop Amaigbo  Community for a better future.
Eze Ihenetu who expressed profound gratitude to Amaigbo Community Indigenes in Diaspora for their massive support towards the Development of Imo State, however used the opportunity to charge Amaigbo Sons and daughters to support and contribute their own quota towards the realization of the New Amaigbo Agenda of our collective dreams.
In her speech, the President General of Amaigbo Women wing, Mrs Mercy Azubuike flanked by former Women leaders, thanked God for granting Amaigbo grace of quality leaders and pray for unity, progress and development of Amaigbo Ancient Kingdom.
Mrs Azubuike further commended the quality and speed development done in Amaigbo Community by the Men wing.
She however appeal for stronger support for Amaigbo women for rapid development and emancipation of Amaigbo Indigenes and urged all to get involve in development of Amaigbo Community.
Mrs Azubuike used the opportunity to promise to synergize with the Men wing for a better Amaigbo, adding that the women of Amaigbo will support the realization of a New Amaigbo of our collective dreams.
The Diaspora Co ordinator of Amaigbo Town Union, Dr King Nwoha in his remarks,  call on Amaigbo Indigenes to embrace the new Amaigbo Agenda, pointing out that Amaigbo Community is now the pride of many Towns in Imo State.
Dr Nwoha pointed out that Amaigbo Town Union has renovated four Health Centres in Amaigbo Community, noting that ATU USA in collaboration with Amaigbo National Body is constructing the biggest ultra modern Community mall in Imo State
He Stressed that Amaigbo Community has huge erosion menace which Amaigbo Town Union has concluded arrangement to tackle between 2023 and 2024, adding that there will be massive construction of drainages to control the harsh erosion challenges.
Dr Nwoha however appeal to all sons and daughters of Amaigbo Community to show deep commitment and contribute their own quota towards the realization of New Amaigbo Agenda, stressing that the development of Amaigbo must be collective.
The President General of Amaigbo Town Union, Sir Fyne Madumere in his speech while presenting Distinguished Awards to deserving Sons and daughters of Amaigbo Community, noted that his administration will keep working hard for Amaigbo to keep getting better and better.
Sir Madumere urged all Indigenes of Amaigbo to buy into the New Amaigbo Agenda and sincerely commended ATU USA for being the  catalyst for the development of Amaigbo Community, adding that Amaigbo Community can not  develop without money and urged all to support the realization of New Amaigbo Agenda.
In his vote of thanks on behalf of Amaigbo Advisory Board who were honoured by Amaigbo Town Union, Chief Ken Nwagbara expressed deep gratitude to Amaigbo Town Union for finding them worthy for such honour and reassured that they will continue to encourage, support and contribute their own quota towards the realization of New Amaigbo Agenda.
The epoch making Royal Reunion Banquet which also witnessed raffle draws for choice wines, was attended by Amaigbo sons and daughters at home and in Diaspora
Assorted drinks and food were served at the Banquet, Indigenous live band and Comedians also entertained the guests.
