Flooding: Provide Lasting Solution, DNKI Tells Federal Government …Sets Up Relief Materials Committee

DeNorsemen Kclub International (DNKI) has called on the Federal Government of Nigeria to provide a lasting Solution to constant flooding effects on the citizens.

The International President of DNKI, Engr Chidi Anokwu who made the call during a press conference to mark this year’s Humanitarian Service Day of the Organization in University of Portharcourt Teaching Hospital, Rivers State on Saturday, 15th October, 2022, argued that there is urgent need for permanent solution to the yearly flooding in Nigeria to cushion the harsh burden on the victims.

Engr Anokwu maintained that the predicaments of citizens in Flood prone Communities in Nigeria should receive immediate attention from all Governments at all levels, adding that more efforts should be channeled towards reducing damages occasioned by flooding since it has become a yearly occurrence.
He said, ” The Federal Government as a matter of National urgency, should provide a lasting Solution to damages and harsh effects of flooding in the Country. Nigerians don’t need to suffer lost or damages occasioned by flooding since it has become a yearly weather issue. The recent flooding across some states in the country was a sad reminder of the devastating effects of the global climate change.”

“DNKI is calling on all the appropriate Government agencies to sit up and find a lasting Solution to this yearly damages and lost experience by Nigerians living flood prone areas.”
Engr Chidi Anokwu who used the opportunity on behalf of DNKI to sympathize with all flood affected Communities in Nigeria and all over the World, however disclosed that DNKI has set up a five man Committee to generate and donate relief materials to the victims of Flooding in Nigeria, Stressing that DNKI will continue to partner with Government towards a better humanity.

” We are calling on our brothers all over Nigerians in line with our motto which is service to humanity to make out time and visit victims of flooding and show love and care to them while we wait for the relief interventions from the Committee.”
