Imo NUPENG Boss, Evans Reward Bags NUJ Distinguished Personality Award  … dedicates Award to Gov. Hope Uzodimma, Assah people

The Imo State Chapter Chairman of  Nigerian Union of Petroleum and Natural Gas workers (NUPENG) Comrade Chief Reward Evans has received “Distinguished Personality Award 2025” from Nigeria Union of journalists Imo State Council.

Comrade Chief Reward Evans who is also the President General of Assah Town Union received the Distinguished Personality Award in recognition of his

 laudable achievements towards the restoration of peace, stability and security in Assah Community and Healthy partnership with Imo NUJ Council as President General of Assah Autonomous Community.

Presenting the Award on behalf Imo NUJ, the Chairman of Nigeria Labour Congress, Imo State Council, Comrade Uche  Chigaemezue Nwaigwe described Comrade Chief Reward Evans as a worthy Comrade and Community leader who has paid his dues, adding that his selfless contributions towards welfare and upliftment of Assah people can never be forgotten.

Imo NLC Boss however used the opportunity to expressed profound gratitude to NUJ Imo State Council for finding Comrade Chief Reward Evans worthy for this presigious award, pointing out that Imo NLC will continue to identify with him.

The investiture of Comrade Chief Reward Evans took centre stage at the Imo NUJ Council’s Special October Congress held on Wednesday, October 21, 2026, under the leadership of the State Chairman, Comrade Ifeanyi Nwanguma, JP, with journalists participating fully in an event that celebrated service, excellence and meaningful contributions to society.

Imo State NUJ Council Chairman, Comrade Ifeanyi Nwanguma JP Fnuj in his remarks noted that the

 recipient, Comrade Chief Evans Reward who is  President General of Assah Town Union has contributed immensely to current peace and harmony in his Community as well as fostering a productive relationship with the NUJ Imo State Council.

Comrade Nwanguma further encouraged the Distinguished Personality Award recipient to regard the honour as a motivation for greater service, while urging other public-spirited individuals, corporate organisations and stakeholders to support initiatives that promote professional excellence, educational advancement, community peace and humanitarian development.

Comrade Chief Reward Evans in his Appreciation Speech thanked Imo NUJ Council for finding him  worthy for such invaluable recognition and reassured Imo NUJ that he will continue to support peace and progress of Assah people.

Comrade Reward who dedicated the Award to Governor Hope Uzodimma and the people of Assah Community, however called on Imo people to support the Shared Prosperity administration of Governor Hope Uzodimma in Imo State, stressing that Gov. Hope Uzodimma has deep interest of Imolites at Heart.
