Developmental Projects:  Onuimo Indigenes Rally Round Imo Environment Commissioner,Major Emenike

The developmental impacts of the fully reconstructed/Grading and rehabilitated -abandoned road networks among other resounding works in Onuimo Local government area embarked on by the Commissioner for Environment, Hon. Major Emenike has not gone unnoticed even to the blind as indigenes of the locality rally around him to call for elevated and more sensitive appointment position across board to ensure even grassroots development.

The people stressed that the appointment of Chief Sir Major Emenike as Commissioner for Environment has given the Onuimo and beyond infrastructural facelift beyond politics and personal gains, as while some stakeholders in the locality are busy politicking against Onuimo and Okigwe Federal House of Representatives Member, Hon. Miriam Onuoha, the Commissioner for Environment, Hon. Major Emenike is busy walking the talks with the notion that politics is local and not too much ado about criticisms and all worth not.

The holistic road projects which also include massive grading and gully erosion controls spread across Umuofeke Alaocha Road in Eziama Okwe, Alaocha Umucheke Gulley erosion is also at the verge of completion by the Messiac Commissioner according to the people brought back life to the locality, relieving them of stress.

Other restored road networks through the landmark intervention of the state Ministry of Environment include Umuikpe road in Umucheke Okwe, the popular Ugwuori Umuduruegbeaka.

Expressing his joy among other satisfied indigenes of the area, Mr Iyke…. from Umuduruegbeaguru stressed that the road had been a course of serial appeals to the Local Government leadership over time but gained no remedial response at all until Hon. Major Emenike came to their rescue.

The indigenes however decried that their welfare had long been politicised by the Local government leadership even in the face of little or no intervention, noting that their stock in trade is unwarranted media hypes over scanty chippings meant for construction while Sir Emenike is doing the extreme and holistic works silently without conditions.

“Thank you Major Emenike for remembering us in Umuduru Egbeaguru, this is what we begged the local government Chairman to do for us, he didn’t do it”~~ Onuimo Roundtable

“This is indeed an example of practical leadership, not coming here to make so much noise about equity; your turn and not your turn. The result of impactful leadership must be seen and felt by the people always. Kudos to the Hon. Commissioner for Environment, Major Emenike for your show of love” ~~ Mr lyk Onuimo Roundtable

Another indigene, Success Alaoma ~~ Onuimo Roundtable also commended the Commissioner for Environment for his magnanimity, adding that the projects cut across every nook and cranny of Onuimo LGA.

“We thank the Commissioner for Environment, Hon. Major Emenike for coming to our rescue, to give us accessible roads after years of abandonment” ~~Mr Okechukwu from Onuimo Roundtable

The people expressed utmost regrets that the LGA leadership instead of being responsive to their plights is busy recruiting, empowering and engaging praise singers to discredit all constructive criticisms from the people to better their lots.

They equally extolled Governor Uzodimma for appointing their illustrious son, Hon. Major Emenike while calling on the Governor to answer their prayers to elevate Hon. Emenike and as well appoint his like for greater impacts in society, stating that his appointment has brought light to the area as well as other local government areas of the state.

The people while querying the rationale of projects negligence and abandonment in Onuimo local government area, however complained that the immediate past Administration and current Chairman of the local government Council who is now busy taking credits of Hon. Emenike’s rescue projects, alongside his leadership team had before now given the impression that the state government is not responsive and does not give the council anything to run the affairs of the locality hence their hands are tied to deliver on purpose even as they contribute funds to fight insecurity in the area.

It is on record that there are no ongoing LGA projects in Onuimo aside from borehole drilling constituency projects awarded directly to ward Councillors across the LGA by the state Government

While the people rejoices over the rescue projects powered by the state government through the ministry of Environment, they are apprehensive of what the local government Chairman and his team are doing with the LGA’s monthly allocation hence call on Governor Uzodimma to call them to order.
