600 meters Ibeno Bridge:   FG, NDDC, Nigerians celebrate  Tony Chukwu, Viche Company

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has expressed deep gratitude to the Managing Director/ Chief Executive Officer of Viche Resources Nigeria Limited, a subsidiary of Roudo Construction Ltd,  an indigenous Engineering outfit owned by Chief Tony Chukwu  ” Onweghi Ihe Kariri Chineke”
for the successful completion of the Phase one of Iko- Atabrikang – Akata -Opolom- Okoroutip- Iwuochang link  Road  with 600 meters Cambered bridge in Ibeno Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State with all the required specifications using indigenous Engineers.
President Tinubu ably represented by the Senate President, Senator Godswill Obot Akpabio made the commendation on 28th of  May, 2024 during the official Commissioning of Iko- Atabrikang – Akata -Opolom- Okoroutip- Iwuochang link  Road  with 600 meters Cambered bridge phase one and flagging off the phase two of the same project.
 Akpabio who is the Chairman of National Assembly was accompanied to the ceremony by Senate and House of Representatives  Committee members on NDDC, maintained that NDDC through Viche Resources Nigeria Limited has given life  and future to all the Communities trapped in Ibeno swamp mangrove, adding that the people of the area will forever remain grateful to Federal Government for this legacy project constructed by Viche Resources Nigeria Limited and  awarded by NDDC, adding that the Road project involves a 600 meters Cambered bridge across huge mangrove Swamp.
Akpabio who maintained that Akwa Ibom State  has moved far ahead of many other states in the Country Infrastructurally, however  on behalf of the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria,  Senator Bola Ahmed  Tinubu flagged off the second phase of the project which is slightly higher in magnitude than phase one which was commissioned
The executive Governor of Akwa Ibom State, Pst  Umo Eno in his goodwill message commended NDDC for this  great Bridge and Road project in Ibeno clan, pointing out that NDDC was established for the purpose of reaching out to the people of Niger Delta Region.

Governor Eno who was represented by his Deputy at the occasion, described the project as a major road connecting many Communities in Ibeno Local Government Area, noting that Akwa Ibom State will support all the Policies and projects of the Federal Government in the State.
The Managing Director/ Chief Executive Officer of NDDC, Dr Samuel Ogbuku in his Speech, maintained that NDDC is making a difference in the Niger Delta Region, noting that since 2001 NDDC has undertaken projects in roads,  Bridges, water supply, rural and urban electrification, shore protection,  jetties  and land reclamation etc.
He noted  that NDDC under his leadership is focused on completion of viable NDDC projects across the Nine mandate States of the region, adding that NDDC is strategically designed to bridge existing infrastructural gaps in the Niger Delta
Dr Ogbuku who commended the Contractor, Chief Tony Chukwu and his Firm, Viche Resources Nigeria Limited for a job well done in the phase one of the project, however insisted that NDDC under his leadership will Continue to create the enabling environment for improved economic activities across the Niger Delta region inline with the vision of president Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
One of the Engineers handling the Massive Road project, Engr Chukwuma Nwachukwu while answering questions from Journalists shortly after the ceremony, said that the scope of the project is the construction of 6.87km, two lane single carriage way with asphaltic surface in a mangrove swamp forest area with 600 meters Cambered bridge with side drain  fully completed to scope.
Speaking on the benefits of the project,  he noted that over twenty Communities separated by the Qua Ibo River in Ibeno Local Government Area  are now linked up by the 600m span bridge executed in the project, noting that the project facilitates trade and other economic activities amongst the communities within the road and Bridge alignment
 Engr Nwachukwu pointed out that the completion of phase one of the project will endangers huge development in the Ibeno clan as heavy goods can now be transported by road as an alternative to the age long means of transportation by water.
He noted that by the accomplishment of the project, travel time has been reduced between adjoining communities within the road alignment and beyond which fosters cultural integration between the various tribes in Ibeno clan and other parts of the State.
