TMO Sets 2027 Governorship Agenda in Imo State…unveils political structure

The Mazi Organization TMO has inaugurated its Imo State structure for grassroots organisation and mobilisation, declaring its readiness to contest and win the 2027 governorship election.
The inauguration ceremony, held on 17 February 2026 at the Swiss International Beland Hotel, Hospital Road, Off Port Harcourt Road, New Owerri, attracted key stakeholders and supporters from across the state.
The highlight of the occasion was the formal unveiling of the Board of Trustees, State Working Committee, and a 30 man Local Government Area structure, alongside ward coordinators, in what organisers described as a strategic move to deepen grassroots engagement.
In his remarks, the Director General, Chukwudi Henry Onwukwe, popularly known as Apiti Uzo Ubi, presented kola nut to the leader of the group, Dr Chima Matthew Amadi, describing him as a God sent leader committed to the liberation of Imo people through collective effort.
Onwukwe stated that Dr Amadi had long demonstrated his passion for service, noting that he had paid school fees for numerous students of Imo State University, empowered youths and women, built houses for the less privileged, and settled hospital bills for indigent citizens even before seeking public office.
According to the organisers, TMO is carefully designed to reach every community in the state, with a clear mandate to mobilise support and make Dr Chima Matthew Amadi the next governor of Imo State.
Addressing members, Dr Amadi, founder of TMO and popularly known as Mazi Gburugburu, said the time had come to build a movement anchored on integrity, sincerity of purpose, and dialogue.
He explained that the organisation was not merely a political platform but a gathering of men and women of honour, including youth ambassadors, committed to conveying the message of a new Imo to the people.
Making reference to the biblical promise land flowing with milk and honey, he linked the vision to what he described as a new Imo built on security, economy and education.
He acknowledged the efforts of past and present governors, stating that while they had tried their best, his team was determined to do better through innovative strategies and people centred policies.
Dr Amadi outlined plans to introduce new economic stimulus measures for wealth creation, revitalise moribund industries in the state, and deliberately empower small and medium scale enterprises. He stressed that the state would not rely solely on federal allocations but would pursue internally driven development initiatives.
He further promised to create an extensive network of roads for easier access across communities and to restore the glory of the public education system.
Sharing his personal experience with poverty, Dr Amadi said he understood the struggles of ordinary citizens, having slept without food in his early years, and affirmed his commitment to empowering the people to tackle poverty and build a prosperous Imo.
He charged members to see themselves as ambassadors of the vision and to take the message to their respective wards, describing the inauguration as the beginning of a new phase in the political landscape of the state.
Present at the event was a renowned business mogul and Chief Executive Officer of Sweet Apple Services Limited, Chief Dennis Ejikeme Okwu, as well as the Imo State Chairman of APP and other notable political figures including past house members, community leaders, youth organizations , women amongst others.
