K O Mbadiwe University Introduces Mid- Semester Quiz

Kingsley Ozumba (K.O) Mbadiwe University (KOMU), Ideato, the second Imo State owned University, has again launched another impressive tertiary education innovation aimed at keeping her students on their toes academically, throughout semester.

Innovation in education is designed to positively transform the learning process in institutions with Information and Communications Technology (ICT) as the bedrock of this paradigm change. Innovations are achieved by embracing new technologies and pedagogies. It is also apt to state that innovation especially in education provides the solution to most local and global challenges of the 21st century world.

This, kOMU’s newly introduced method of assessing and evaluating  students, mid-way in the semester with a quiz, was test-run with students in all the departments of the university during the ongoing first semester of the 2023/2024 academic session. And, it yielded an amazingly impressive result that qualified the new innovation for sustenance and saleability.

The new innovation is found to be both engaging and effective in transforming and preparing students for the challenges of the 21st century. With the enormous educational benefits of Mid-semester Quiz innovation, other institutions can embrace the unlimited opportunities that innovation in education presents.

The Vice Chancellor of the University,  Prof Ikechukwu N. S. Dozie, in a chart with his Special Assistant on Media, described the innovation as superb, stating that the innovation is in-line with the vision and mission of the University’s Management team. The highly esteemed Professor, thanked both academic and non-academic staff of the University for their cooperation and synergy during the quiz exercise. He also advised the students to take advantage of the mid-semester quiz creation to prepare selves constantly for academic emergencies.

The secret of KOMU’s superlative success and marvelous achievements despite its age is her innovative approach to education being conscious of the world’s continuous evolvement at an unprecedented pace.

Because, Kingsley Ozumba (K.O.) Mbadiwe University, observed that the traditional model of classroom-based teaching and learning exercise alone is no longer sufficient and most fashionable to prepare students for the 21st century challenges.
