Ideato South Assembly Election: Ikenga Ugochinyere Openly Worked Against PDP – Nnenna Aladum

The People’s Democratic Party (PDP) candidate for Ideato South State Constituency in the just concluded Imo State House of Assembly (IMHA) election that took place on the 18th of March,2023, Hon. Barr. (Mrs)Nnenna Aladum has opened up to what transpired on the election in the area.

Aladum who is the only female Imo PDP candidate,  described the March 18th  election in Imo as war against democracy, adding that  PDP members as engineered by the Ideato North and South Federal Constituency member-elect Barr. Ikenga Ugochinyere Ikeagwuon embarked on massive anti party activities against their own candidate.

Aladum  who stated this over the weekend during media briefing in Owerri,  allegedly accused Ikenga Chinyere of working for Accord Party Candidate.

“I am Hon. Barr. Mrs Nnenna Aladum, the PDP Candidate for Ideato South State Constituency Election. I was the only female candidate of PDP for the 18th March Election and all the other Elections held on the 25th of February, 2023. The Election in our side was full of Violence, ballot box snatching and abduction of INEC Adhoc Staff and compelling them to write results in favour of APC.”

“In all these, the most devastating experience was the fact that our PDP federal member  Elect Barr. Ikenga Ugochinyere Ikeagwuonu sponsored and directed PDP party faithfuls to engage in massive Anti- party activities to vote against PDP, the party that sponsored him to win as the Ideato South & North Federal Constituency elect, in favour of the Accord Party in Ideato South.”

“He used our Ward Chairmen (except 2 of the ward Chairmen), LGA Secretary, Some Ward Executives, Chapter Chairmen , Some leaders of PDP and a reasonable number of our party faithfuls to work in favour of Accord Party against PDP. This is the worst election I have ever seen or embarked on! Any result admitting anyone to score more than me in this election is basically not correct because the whole process is purely a sham.

“Like I already stated, Ikenga Ugochinyere Ikeagwuonu after PDP faithfuls voted him during his election on  25th February worked against the hands that fed him (PDP) with his cohorts in favour of accord party.

Our party’s constitution vehemently frowns against anti-party activities,  let alone this kind that Ikenga Ugochinyere Ikeagwuonu made very open, using phones, wrappers and money to entice PDP members, bribing their conscience to work against their own Party . This act is highly despicable and against public policy and the Constitution of PDP.”

“I didn’t work against our Federal Constituency Elect; Barr Ikenga Ugochinyere Ikeagwuonu! I worked assiduously delivering  PDP in my Booth and he won massively from my Home ward Umuobom Ward, only to incite PDP faithfuls to vote against PDP during my own elections on the 18th March,2023!”

“Yes I have plethora of evidence showing that Ikenga Ugochinyere  worked for Accord party against PDP his own party. He carried out the anti- party activities using PDP structures in the various wards, using gifting of small Chinese phones, wrappers, distributing funds through the PDP Ward Chairman of Dikenafai in Ideato South and further pledging #500,000 per Booth if they vote against PDP. Here attached are correspondence and instructions by Ikenga Ugochinyere to PDP members to embark on the said work against PDP in favour of Accord party.The punishment/Sanction for anti- party is Suspension from party and finally Expulsion.

 “I did very effective campaign visiting the 27 communities in Ideato South. I was well received and supported. Judging based on an undiluted results going by the massive support I received, I am truly the winner of the 18th March State Assembly Election for Ideato South. The other results are basically concocted and cooked up figures.”

“Ideato South State constituency is PDP dominated LGA. The PDP structure in Ideato South voted Ikenga Ugochinyere Ikeagwuonu to Win! So outside the massive formal Anti- party activities by Ikenga Ugochinyere and his cohorts, Same massive voting for PDP is expected.

“My candidature is very desirable and well received in Ideato South because the good people of ideato South constituency yearns for a change in the scheme of Legislative representations! Ideato South since creation has never recorded a female legislature, My Ward Umuobom that has about 28 booths in Ideato South and contributes most of the winning votes has never produced a legislative representatives since the creation of Ideato South. My candidacy qualifies and fits into these gaps, So my candidacy is well received, extremely needful and timely.”

“I am expectant that my party leadership will address this Anti-party issues to curb these excesses from growing more deep Root  because it was well planned,very intentional and flagrantly committed against PDP by the House of  representatives member Elect,  Ikenga Ugochinyere and his Cohorts.” She submitted.
