Akuneme Heads FCT Immigration Command

 Imo State born  Anthony Akuneme has been appointed the Comptroller of Immigration, Federal Capital Territory Abuja.
Speaking to journalists on his promotion as a Comptroller of Immigration and the Head of Nigeria Immigration Services FCT Command, the elated officer said “I feel highly honoured for the CG to consider me as the best person to head to head the command of the capital territory, I feel humbled”. He thanked God for the honour and privilege.
Speaking on his first day in Office as the Comptroller, he said “my first day was exciting. I inspected a guard of honour mounted in my honour. Then had a meeting and great session with my management team and went round the different units to greet the officers. That’s my first posting as a Comptroller, so I was really hoping not to make any mistakes in my words and actions. I return all the glory to God.
He further hinted that he will be engaging their clients robustly and disclosed that he is going to invite all the expatriates and stakeholders in FCT and enquire from them their expectations and challenges, adding that it would be a good take off point.
It would be recalled that  Awo-omamma born new FCT Immigration command boss until his promotion  served as the Nigeria Immigration Spokesman.
He has served in different commands of the Immigration, including foreign service in Canada. Information available to journalists, revealed that he was the founding Editor of the Migrant  magazine, a publication of the Nigeria Immigration Services Passport office Ikeja Lagos.
