66th Anniversary: Time to Reset Nigeria for positive heights –Sweet Apple

By Athan Agbakwuru
House of Representatives candidate of Action Peoples Party, APP, in Mbaitoli/Ikeduru, MBAIKE, federal constituency of Imo State, High Chief Dennis Ejikeme Okwu, fondly called by his business name, Sweet Apple, has sent his felicitations to all his kinsmen of Mbaike constituency and Nigerians as the country marks her 66th independence celebration today.
Chief Okwu, in a statement issued Wednesday in Owerri described this year’s celebration as a special opportunity for the people of his constituency to chat a new roadmap for the area and the country to reposition the system for positive attainments through robust and people-oriented legislation.
The business mogul who expressed empathy with the citizenry for their perennial suffering as a result of inept leadership over the decades, assured them that robust legislative activities will reset the nation’s growth pace and pattern.
His words, “I have confidence in a new rejigged Nigeria. All Nigerians need to do to get our country out of the woods is to leverage on the 2027 general elections to bench the crop of leaders that have held our respective communities and constituencies hostage over time.
“My party, the APP has offered the opportunity for the needed positive change with the array of credible candidates in Imo State from the senate, with Dr Chima Matthew Amadi for Imo East zone and his colleagues in Orlu and Okigwe Zone, my humble self for Mbaike federal constituency and my counterparts across the 10 federal constituencies of the state and our 27 state constituency candidates.”
“We request our people to be more discerning than ever before in 2027 because, we all cannot afford to remain the weeping child for another four years under the current hardship inflicted on us all by the so-called ruling APC.
” We have been made victims in our own land, not citizens, because of our wrong electoral choices, nonchalance or culpable complacency in the years and elections past. This time, let us rise and say, ‘Enough is enough.”
“Despite the daunting challenges and ever deepening socioeconomic hardship boldly staring in the face, let us remain firmly resolute, determined and resilient believing that victory is nigh.
“On behalf of my family, our great party, APP and supporters of good governance, I congratulate us all at this very auspicious occasion and wishing our party landslide victory in the elections ahead.”
