2027: Eligwe Emerges ADP Candidate for Oru East/Orsu/Orlu Rep. Seat … Pledges People-Oriented Representation

Former Special Adviser to the Imo State Governor on Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and Humanitarian Services, Eligwe Christina Ijeoma, has emerged as the candidate of the Action Democratic Party (ADP) for the Oru East/Orsu/Orlu Federal Constituency in the 2027 House of Representatives election, promising to provide effective people-oriented representation if elected.
Her candidature is contained in the list of candidates published by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for the upcoming 2027 National Assembly election.
Speaking on her emergence, Eligwe said she will bring action oriented leadership, would draw on her years of experience in public service to improve the lives of the people of the constituency, particularly through initiatives that address their economic and social needs.
She said her priority would include creating opportunities for economic empowerment and supporting measures capable of improving household livelihoods and putting food on the tables of families across Oru East, Orsu and Orlu Local Governments.
Eligwe previously served as Special Adviser to the Imo State Government on SDGs and Humanitarian Services, where she was involved in issues relating to social intervention, poverty reduction and humanitarian assistance.
During her time in office as Special Adviser, she was associated with programmes including the Conditional Cash Transfer scheme, GEEP, the Home-Grown School Feeding Programme, N-Power and other National Social Investment Programme interventions in Imo State.
Her academic background includes a degree in Accounting from the University of Maryland, United States, as well as a Master’s degree. Her professional profile is also associated with Sustainable Development Goals initiatives and international development activities, including exposure to United Nations-related work through her NGO, Reading Hamlets.
With her experience spanning from accounting, economic development, public administration, social development to humanitarian affairs, Eligwe brings a background in development-focused public service to the 2027 contest and
understands that servant leadership isn’t about serving oneself, it is about serving the people you have been elected to serve.
Her emergence comes as political activities begin to intensify across the three local government areas, with voters expected to weigh the experience, programmes and credentials of the various candidates seeking the federal seat.
For Eligwe, the contest presents an opportunity to build on her experience in public service and pursue initiatives she believes can translate into improved economic prospects and greater social support for the constituents she will serve.
