Favour Nwelue Takes Charge as Onyirimba Campaign DG Ahead of 2027

Attorney Charles Onyirimba, the ADP senatorial candidate for Okigwe Zone, has appointed Mrs. Favour Nwelue as Director-General of his 2027 Campaign Council.
The appointment places Nwelue at the centre of the campaign’s political and grassroots mobilisation machinery as the race for the Imo North Senate seat begins to take shape.
Nwelue is the second woman to serve as Director-General of a major Imo North senatorial campaign, after Mrs. Love Ineh, who held the same position in the campaign organisation of former Imo North senatorial candidate, Senator Frank Ibezim.
Regarded as an astute grassroots politician, Nwelue brings political experience, community connections and mobilisation capacity to the campaign. Her task will include coordinating the campaign structure, strengthening grassroots networks and helping take Onyirimba’s message directly to voters across Okigwe Zone.
Her appointment is also expected to strengthen the campaign’s engagement with community leaders, women, youths, professional groups, faith-based organisations and other stakeholders whose participation could prove important in the 2027 contest.
The over 30-member council brings together politicians, technocrats, clerics and credible men and women drawn from different walks of life across the six local government areas that make up Okigwe Zone.
The structure, according to the council, is designed to combine political experience, professional competence and grassroots presence as Onyirimba seeks to offer Ndi Okigwe a stronger voice and more purposeful representation at the National Assembly.
With Nwelue assuming the campaign’s top administrative and mobilisation role, attention is expected to focus on consolidating existing structures, strengthening ward-level networks and expanding direct engagement with voters across the zone.
The campaign is also expected to intensify its communication of Onyirimba’s message of competence, capacity and people-centred representation, while presenting him as an alternative to established political interests in the senatorial district.
Beyond mobilisation, Nwelue will be expected to work with the various directorates of the campaign to ensure effective coordination of activities and consistent messaging across the six LGAs. Her grassroots experience could also prove valuable in identifying local concerns and ensuring that campaign engagement remains connected to the everyday realities of voters.
Nwelue’s emergence is, therefore, expected to mark the beginning of a more intensive phase of grassroots mobilisation ahead of the 2027 election, as the Onyirimba campaign moves to build a formidable organisation capable of reaching voters across Okigwe Zone.
