EBHA Passes  Bill On Street Naming

 Members of the Ebonyi State House of Assembly, has passed a Bill for the establishment of the street naming and property addressing system.
In a plenary, members deliberated extensively and passed the bill, which shall be cited as Ebonyi State Street Naming and Property Addressing System Law 2025 and other matters connected thereto.
When signed into law, by the Executive Governor, the bill which is a comprehensive legal and institutional framework will be provided by property addressing and naming in Abakaliki Capital City.
 The law also will provide a better planning of essential services, which would assist individuals in securing a legal identity, through property addressing.
Speaker of the House, RT Hon Moses Odunwa, further explained that the bill  was to create a database that would enable the state, through the Capital City Property Development, to plan properly for the revenue generation for the state.
The House in the pleanry also expressed satisfaction with Gov Nwihufu’s impactful strides. They further described the Gov as one who has been fulfilling the promises he made to Ebonyians, during his election campaign and therefore gave a nod to his request for approval of consultancy services to facilitate recovery of outstanding federal tertiary institutions in the state.
