ISOPADEC New MD, Hon. Onyedebelu Reaffirms Commitment To Worker’s Welfare

The Managing Director Of the Imo State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission, ISOPADEC, Hon.Chief Austin Onyedebelu, has reassured staff of his unwavering commitment to their welfare, promising timely disbursement of all entitlements and a conducive working environment.

 

Speaking during a staff meeting on Friday, February 7,2025, Chief Onyedebelu maintained that if workers are happy, the commission will move well to achieve her objectives,hence, what is due for the workers will be given to the workers without delay

 

The Chairperson of the ISOPADEC Workers Union, Comr.Mrs Henrietta Uzukwu acknowledged the concerns raised by employees.

 

Their demands include,but not limited to;

Payment of the 13th-month salary Provision of Staff Bus

Upgrading the Staff Clinic

Settlement of retirement benefits

Restoration of Wi-Fi services

Etc

 

Other employees, including Mr.Nwabueze Obodo,Mr.Anthony Okiro,Adibe Sebastian ,also voiced their expectations during the meeting.

 

In his response, Chief Onyedebelu assured the workforce of his administration’s commitment to resolving these issues efficiently, emphasizing the importance of professionalism in service delivery.

 

 

He urged employees to remain dedicated and supportive of the Shared Prosperity agenda of His. Excellency,Dist. Sen. Hope Uzodimma.

 

He charged them to be ambassadors heralding the good works of our God sent governor of Imo state.

The MD,condemned the evil attitude of joining forces with those who criticize the government with the aim of pulling it down, adding that the Governor has done much for Ndi Imo therefore deserves acknowledgement and appreciation to enable him do more for the betterment of Imolites.

 

 

On the issue of the little delay in Payment of January Salary, the MD explained that it is a general thing in government ministries and agencies which is as a result of conversion of salaries to the new minimum wage.

 

Chief Onyedebelu strongly emphasized on the need for workers commitment to duty, punctuality to work. Warning that once the Wifi is fixed it should be used for work to enhance productivity and not for play.

 

He reassured management’s commitment to their health and welfare by upgrading and re-equiping the clinic as well as adequate plan for the provision of Staff bus.

 

Delivering the vote of thanks , the Head of Department Administration and Finance (DAF), Dame Ifunanya Macaulay Onwusoro, expressed deep appreciation to Chief Onyedebelu for engaging directly with the staff.She commended the M.D’s humility and proactive leadership, describing him as a leader who genuinely prioritizes workers’ interests.

 

 

Dame Onwusoro , further assured that staff commitment and work ethics would significantly improve under his leadership.

 

The meeting concluded with a closing prayer led by Pastor Ambrose Iheana
