Imo ADC Mobilizes Support Groups Ahead of 2027 Elections

By Ethel Ahanaonu
The Director-General, Directorate of Support Groups, Diaspora Affairs, Civil Society Organizations (CSOs), and Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs) of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Comrade (Dr.) Agu Diamond Bryan, has  mobilized thousands of support groups across the 27 Local Government Areas of the state ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Speaking during an interactive session with the State Chairman of the party and various support group leaders, Dr. Agu emphasized that the directorate remains the “engine room” for ADC’s 2027 electoral victory. He highlighted that the party’s strength lies in its new political culture rooted in credibility, inclusiveness, accountability, and collective progress.
According to him, “ADC believes that leadership must be earned through credibility, not manipulation; through conviction, not intimidation. Our support group structure has become a platform where ideas matter more than money, and where service to humanity is the highest form of politics.”
Dr. Agu revealed that, in addition to the ten existing registered support groups, fourteen new groups have expressed interest in partnering with the Directorate of Support Groups, Diaspora Affairs, CSOs, and NGOs to strengthen the party’s grassroots presence. Notable among these are;  I Stand with ADC, The Igbo Liberation Prayer Network, a
The New Mandate National Movement, just to mention but few of the support groups  committed to advancing the party’s ideals.
He urged eligible Nigerians, especially supporters of the ADC, to take part in the ongoing voter registration exercise by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC). “Do not say your vote won’t count,” he said. “The first step toward change is getting your voter’s card. Let’s do the needful.”
Also speaking, the party’s Director of INEC and Electoral Matters, Hon. Emeka Nwaokeke (Iroko), commended the various support groups for their dedication and encouraged members to go beyond verbal support by officially registering with the party in their respective wards.
In his remarks, the ADC State Chairman, Prof. James Okoroma, expressed satisfaction with the turnout and enthusiasm of the support groups. He described the current state of governance in Nigeria as “a sign of systemic collapse,” noting that recent rumors of political instability underscore the urgent need for credible leadership.
Prof. Okoroma stressed that the African Democratic Congress remains the most credible alternative for good governance in Nigeria. “With the commitment and unity we are witnessing today,” he said, “ADC is well-positioned to rise to the challenge and deliver victory come 2027.”
