PolyNek Rector: Proactive, Effective, Pragmatic – Uzodimma …commissions Federal road projects attracted by Arimanwa

The Rector of Federal Polytechnic Nekede Engr Dr Chidiebere Arimanwa  has been commended  by the governor of Imo state Senator Hope Uzodinma for his efforts in bringing  to an end the Flood, Erosion  and Gully menace in the school.

Governor Uzodimma made the   commendation during   commissioning and handover of the completed Flood, Erosion and Gully Menace projects attracted by the Rector of the institution, Engr. Chidiebere Arimanwa.

Governor Uzodinma applauded him for being able  to attract the Presidency through  Ecological Fund Office Abuja for the execution of the projects that were  handed over to the school today.

Hon. Benjamin Okezie the Chairman House Committee on Media & Publicity while reading the President’s address said the  Flood, Erosion & Gully menace of Federal Polytechnic Nekede is one of the nine ecological projects approved by the President.

He said its importance cannot be over emphasised as it has addressed the flood and  erosion menace in the school and brought  relief to the host community.

 Kalu commended the contractor/ consultant for speedy delivery of the job.

He appealed to the school and the host community not to abuse  the projects but always try to maintain it.

The Rector of Federal Polytechnic Nekede Engr Dr Chidiebere Arimanwa thanked the President for granting  his request through the Ecological Fund.

He said when he assumed office as the Rector, the entrance  to the school was impassable.The Rector said he is delighted that today the  road is now accessible.

He said is satisfied with the job done and appealed to the President to also  rescue the road leading  to the  Mechanic Village Nekede.

Other dignitaries at the occasion were: The Permanent Secretary Ecological Fund Dr Habiba Muda Lawal who was represented by Engr Udochi Nwachukwu, the Deputy Rector of Federal Polytechnic Nekede Dr (Mrs) Anthonia Nwosu who said the vote of thanks, the Registrar  Mrs Anuna E. C, the Public Relations Officer Mr Everbeeze Nwosu, the  Librarian Mr Chris Enyia and the bursar Mr V.N Anyanwuocha

The Contractor for the projects is Vintage Consolidated Ltd while the Consultant is Leadscape Global Concept.

Arc. Golo Mustapha who spoke for the Contractor thanked the Ecological Fund for finding them worthy to execute the projects. The architect listed the projects executed as follows:

1.2Km access road

Asphalt 2metres  width

Construction of 2.6Km  concrete drainage

12 culverts

Reclaiming of 500m road and surface dressing at Uzomiri

Desilting of existing reservoir and drainages.

With the execution of these projects that were commissioned and handed over to Federal Polytechnic Nekede, the Rector, the staff, students and the host community will no longer have issue of bad roads caused by flood, erosion and gully menace.
