UMUIGBO UNITE CARES  DELIVER SIGNATURE PROJECTS IN IMO SCHOOLS

The memories of May 16,2025,will continue to linger in the hearts of students of Government Technical College,Ikenegbu Girls Secondary School and Owerri City School,as a Non-Governmental Organisation under the aegis of Umu Igbo Unite Cares UIUCares,delivered mouth watering signature projects in their respective schools.

Journalists in the state gathered that the NGO whose core mandate is to put smiles on the face of people especially the less privileged and down throdden in the society, rehabilitated the dilapidated electronics laboratory of Government Technical School Owerri GTC, with modern equipments, constructed a 10-room modern sanitation facility with over head tanks.

Similarly,the organisation increased the reading culture of students of Ikenegbu Girls Secondary School who are known for excelling in science subjects in the state.

UIUCares, refurbished the school library by donating book shelves, chairs and reading tables,thereby making the library more attractive, convenient and conducive for reading.

As if that was not enough,they went further to upgrade and equip the ICT Center with State- of-the Art  computers.

Owerri City School was not left out,as 9 classrooms that were in bad condition were seemingly renovated.

Commissioning and handing over the legacy projects,lmo State Governor Sen.Hope Uzodinma, represented by the Commissioner for Primary and Secondary Education,Prof.B.T.O.Ikegwuoha, commended Umu Igbo Unite Cares,a Non-Governmental Organisation based in Enugu for donating modern computers, rehabilitating Ikenegbu Girls Secondary School library,equpping the electronics workshop at GTC and renovatig 9 classrooms at Owerri City School,stressing that education like security is not the business of government alone,adding that it is is for every body paricularly the stakeholders.

He opined that government can not do it alone,adding that other non governmental organisations should emulate Umu Igbo Unite Cares and replicate what they have done or even do more better.

Fielding questions from journalists shortly after handing over the projects,the project manager of the humanitarian group,Dr Chika Onyeanu,disclosed that umu Igbo unite Cares is NGO domiciled at Enugu,who are into humanitarian community service works,pointing out that their core mandate  is to put smiles in the faces of people, especially the down throdden and less privileged in the society.

He regretted that most of the public schools in the South East are facing dilapidated structure, unequipped facilities and host of others,revealing that his organisation visited these schools,saw the level of dilapidation and decided to intervene.

He went further to disclose their four focus areas,which include;Health Care, Accessibility, Education, Wealth Creation and Relief.

He used the medium to express gratitude to Umu Igbo Unite Chapters for their support on different projects,amongst them are,Ms Angela Nwandu,Ms Adaobi Gwacham,Mr Chido Amuzie,Mr Osita Nwakoby,Mr Evans Nwankwo,Mr Chuma Ekwueme,Dr Victor  Okeh and Ms Chinwe Ohanele.
