NANS Extols Fedpolynek Rector, Igbokwe as JAMB clears  over 50,000 Embattled Graduates  for NYSC …sets to hold prayer summit at IMSU, Feb.12.

National Association of Nigerian Students,NANS South East(Zone F) has extolled the Rector of Federal Polytechnic,Nekede, Owerri,Imo State,Dr. Mrs. Basilia Igbokwe for facilitating the deployment of over 50,000 students who graduated years back for National Youth Service Corps,NYSC.
Speaking to newsmen on Monday 10th February,2025 in Owerri, the South East Secretary-General of NANS,Comrade Alfred Jessy Chinedu stated that her leadership had earlier met with officials of Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board,JAMB who disclosed that over 50,000 embattled graduates of Fedpolynek have been cleared for their NYSC.
Comrade Chinedu revealed that the already cleared graduates earlier faced admission challenges which could not being resolved by the past leaderships of the Institution.
 She applauded Dr. Mrs. Igbokwe, the Rector of Federal Polytechnic Nekede, for her exceptional leadership and dedication to students’ welfare.
“This is a laudable achievements. We are happy that Dr. Mrs. Basilia Igbokwe was able to record this milestone achievements in less than 3 months in the office”,she stated.
Comrade Chinedu who is also a law student of Imo State University, emphasized on the importance of having leaders like Dr. Igbokwe, who prioritize students’ needs and well-being of her staff in every sector.
She noted that Igbokwe’s efforts has not only benefited the students,but also reflected positively on the premises of the Institution.
In addition to praising Igbokwe, Comrade Chinedu,also addressed the issue of corruption in tertiary institutions, urging parents to always inspect characters of their children so as to halt chances of entering into problem.
She advised parents to refrain from bribing officials to secure admission for their children, as such practice undermines the integrity of the educational system.
In furtherance,Comrade Chinedu also emphasized on the importance of having women in leadership positions, particularly those who are mothers.
She believes that women like Igbokwe, who have demonstrated compassion and empathy should be emulated.
 Chinedu”s statement suggests that having more women in leadership positions could lead to positive change and better decision-making.
In another development,Chinedu announced an upcoming event, “IMSU Pray,” scheduled for February 12th, which aims to provide scholarships, food items, and other support to students.
